Connie

Connie is one incredible young lady!  Like many of our children, Connie lost her parents at a very young age.  She joined our Tumaini family in 2009 at the age of 4, and we have since watched her grow into a kind, humble, compassionate young teen.  She has a heart as big as Tanzania and plans to share it with all of the children in her country.  Read Connie’s whole story to find out what her future has in store.

Story of Connie

DOB – May 16, 2005

Came under Tumaini care early 2009!

As I had mentioned in my earlier writing about her, Connie has lost both of her parents to AIDS and her extended family, desperately poor, was trying to provide care for her but the region from where Connie comes, Songea in southern Tanzania, is very poor and there simply wasn’t enough to go around.

As is the case with Anna, Martha, Gerehad and Daniel, Connie’s plight was brought to Oddo’s attention through family members who still live in Songea and we have welcomed her with us.

Connie is a sweetheart.  Her photos truly do not do her justice.  Connie is a very kind, generous girl who has a big heart and equally big dreams for the future.  It is Connie’s dream to study law and one day become a judge, fighting for the rights of the children in Tanzania.  Connie is very studious and shines at school.  She is a great role model for all her younger Tumaini siblings, and she is often the one they go to for advice or to help settle small disputes.  The children know they can count on her to be fair and listen to all sides of the story before coming to any conclusions.  Connie is an incredible, compassionate young lady, and we are confident she will make a big impact for the children of Tanzania one day.
