Clean Drinking Water
We can take so much for granted in so many parts of the world . . . like opening a faucet and pouring a glass of water that won’t make us sick.
At Tumaini we’re lucky because we have a constant water supply, BUT, it’s not always potable (drinkable). Further, the fluoride in our water is excessive and stains our children’s teeth (and can also cause neurological issues later in life).
Sometimes, if most of us are home, we are providing drinking water to more than 70 people a day and if there’s something nasty in that water then we’ve got a lot of sick kids on our hands.
We’re careful. We use clean jugs to fetch our water, and when we discover things aren’t as they should be, we boil our drinking water, but we’d like to purchase a massive nanofiltration system (we have one small unit but we can’t keep up). This way we can ensure our family is drinking clean, purified water, every day!
